How to put someone into trance

BREATHING TRANCE

The Breathing induction is a simple and fullproof hypnotic induction. It works by linking suggestions of relaxation with the natural response everyone has to slowing their breathing. For most people this is the simplest and most gentle way of getting into trance. You can use it on other people or you can use it to put yourself into trance.

When using this induction watch the person's eyes, and as soon as the eyelids start to flicker, you know they are entering trance. For most people this is all the induction you need, but you might want to follow it with a Staircase Deepener if you do not get a clear indication of trance.

Breath 1

OK. What I would like you to do now, [clientname], is just take a deep breath. Take a deep breath.... and hold it... That's good..... and now let it go.... that's fine... just allow yourself to feel comfortable.

Now take another deep breath and hold it. And this time let go all the tension in your shoulders and in your arms... just let that go.... that's good.

 
Breath 3

And now take another deep  breath and hold it... and as you let it go this time just really relax.... just allow your body to completely relax....  That's very good.

 

 

Now just resume breathing normally.

And now I wonder if you could focus on your breathing.... just become aware of your breathing... how you breathe in and then breathe out.... that feeling of your breath in your body.... that's excellent...

and with each breath out... you might wonder.... just exactly how relaxed you could become... with each breath out... think about how your arms and legs can get so heavy... so relaxed... and how comforting that weight can be.... and with each breath... your arms and legs... shoulders.... muscles...  all begin to feel completely relaxed.... you become aware of being held safely securely comfortably in that chair... and you are in that chair breathing gently ... listening to my voice... drifting down... and each breath is allowing you to relax more and more.... just allowing you to drift away now.... that's good...

and you might wonder what it would be like to count  each breath as you relax.... and how each breath can make you more relaxed... and just the thought of breathing and relaxing makes you feel as if you are sinking down...  Ten... Nine.... going down deeper.... Eight... and each breath makes you feel more relaxed.... Seven .... and with each breath you feel yourself going deeper and deeper... more and more relaxed.... Six.... down again..... Five.... breathing gently... letting go.... Four... down and down.... deeper and deeper..... Three.... more and more at ease.... Two.... and One.... totally relaxed.....
