IBS: An unnecessary disorder

Hypnotherapy for IBS

IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) is a psychologically based disorder that responds well to hypnotherapy.

Millions of people suffer from diarrhea or constipation for years when they don't have to. They find it affects their quality of life, it prevents them from travelling or doing other things they want to do, causes them shame and embarrassment. They consult doctors and specialists and try everything and anything to get rid of it, but nothing works. Nobody can find anything wrong with them.

So people just give up and try to live with it.

In fact there is a proven scientific method for ending IBS. Hypnotherapy has been proved to be very effective in the treatment of IBS.

This page describes a package of hypnotherapy measures designed to end IBS.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a gastro-intestinal disorder. It is experienced as long lasting or intermittent abdominal pain that happens along with disturbed bowel functions. The symptoms include diarrhea and/or constipation and/or symptoms of bloating and distension.

IBS is found in 9 - 22% of the population, depending on the definition used. IBS may be influenced by a variety of things: cultural factors, social factors, individual behavior, diet, hormones, stress and exercise can all have an effect on it.

Do you have IBS?

Everyone gets bowel upsets from time to time so it is important to establish whether or not you actually have IBS. IBS is a carefully defined clinical condition, just having a bowel upset does not count as IBS. It must have been going on for at least six months before it can be considered as IBS, there must be no physical reason for it, and it must include several key symptoms.

You can find out if you do have IBS, and what kind, by taking the IBS Screening test.

IBS Screeing Test

You can find out if IBS is affecting your quality of life by taking the IBS Self Assessment test. This shows you what areas of you life are most at risk.
